Start Options, one of the relatively older brokers was founded in early 2010. After beginning their journey accepting US and UK residents, US residents were quickly swept away for an unknown reason. It has been said that they will at some point try and bring back in the US clients.
User Friendly: 7/10
Start Options gives a fairly good user experience to its clients with its web-based platform. However at some points the software has been known to “glitch out” and the charts start looking funky.
Assets & Expiry Times: 6/10
Start Options offers around 40 assets at this time which includes, Stocks, Commodities, Forex and Indicies.
Currently, the only expire time is 1 hour on Start Options which is very limited compared to some of the other brokers.
Customer Service: 7/10
The customer service at Start Options was always fairly quick to respond to my general inquiries. However when it comes to harder questions or things regarding withdrawals its a different story.
Payout Rates: 9/10
The payout rates at Start Options range from 70% to 81% depending on the time and asset and there is a 10% return if you land out of the money on any trade.
Deposits & Withdrawals: 4/10
There are only a hand full of deposit methods available through Start Options. Credit card, debit card, local payments, Moneybookers and finally a bank wire and the maximum you can deposit with them is $5,000.
In terms of the withdrawal process, they have had their fair share of problems. They have been known to give you the run around and take extremely long periods of time before allowing you to get your money out (weeks) which is extremely unacceptable.
Average Withdrawal Time (Credit Card) : Weeks
Average Withdrawal Time (Wire Transfer): Weeks
